Individuals who have domesticated animals may grow to be attached to them after sometime. To this end, when the animal dies, they may want to have it disposed off in a respectful manner. A pet mortuary can come in handy in this regard. Knowing a few things will help you find a good facility, whose services you can use.

Find out if the company provides pick up services for the dead animals. The company may pick up the animal from your home or from a veterinary. Some companies have scheduled times for picking up dead animals from certain animal clinics. The company may be available to pick up the animal even at night or during holidays, but you may have to pay a bit more for this.

Know how the animal will be transported to the facility. This includes the type of vehicle used and what it will be wrapped in during transportation. The animal can be wrapped in a soft blanket or piece of cloth.

Choose the internment method that you are most comfortable with. The animal can either be buried or cremated individually or in mass grave. If you want the ashes of the animal returned to you, opt for individual cremation. If you do not want the ashes back, then mass cremation will be suitable.

You can come up with creative ways to remember the animal. You can request the facility to give you a part of the animal, so that you can keep it as a souvenir. This may include the skin or any other part of the body.

When choosing a funeral home, find out what their costs are. The amount charged usually depends on the type and size of animal you have. It also depends on the type of service you want, be it cremation or a burial and any other additional stuff you may have to buy, like an urn.
